
EJMP Fund for Philanthropy
Mission: To provide resources primarily throughout Aquidneck Island, Rhode Island to advance humanity through creative education; ethical behavior; protect and preserve the animal kingdom and its habitat; promote sound environmental practices; support artistic and historic entities.
EJMP Fund for Philanthropy was formed in 2010 and since it’s inception has provided grants to over 80 organizations totaling over $10 million dollars.
Areas of Focus for Funding
Based in Newport County, Rhode Island, EJMP maintains a heavily local philanthropic focus on certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in good standing, typically with primary interest and investment in the following categories of charitable endeavors and activities:
- Preservation and restoration of the local natural environment and habitats
- Local historical and environmental research and publications and non-profit media
- “Bootstrap” endeavors aimed at improving the lives of local citizens, with particular emphasis on promoting equal cultural, educational, recreational, social welfare, and developmental opportunities for youth of all socioeconomic backgrounds
- Animal welfare / protection / rehabilitation and related activities
- Preservation of the integrity of local historical landmarks
- Non-profit local educational and cultural institutions
